I found a case at Hobby Lobby that was
about the right size and look I wanted.
Wait till they are 40% off!
I am sure Michael's or JoAnn's have
similar items.
Other items you will need: About a yard of
red velvet or other suitable material, foam
padding about one inch thick, spray
adhesive, two wooden crosses (I got these at
Michaels), old bottles, elastic (I used 1/4
inch wide black), garlic, prayer book (I
found one at the antique store which was
written in German), rosary (had this
already, but antique stores sell old ones for
usually less then $10.00), mirror, scissors,
sharp knife and decorative jewels.
1. Cut two pieces of foam, one for the top of the case and one for the bottom. The foam
should fit snug into the bottom and the top of the case. You might want to check the
placement of the bottom piece of foam with the bottles and the book. I did cut a portion of
the foam out so the bottles would lay flush with the foam. This would be best done before
you cover the foam with fabric.

2. Cut the fabric to cover the tops of both pieces of foam.

3. Spray the adhesive to the fabric and foam, cover foam, let dry.

4. While the foam/fabric is drying carve the ends of your crosses into points.

5. Optional: Stain Crosses, I used some stain that was lying around the house.

6. When the stain dries glue the decorative jewels to the crosses, whatever looks good to
you!

7. With your scissors poke two holes through the top foam and the fabric. The distance
between the holes should be about the width of the cross. If you use more than one cross you
will need to do this for each cross displayed. The holes are for the elastic to secure the
crosses. Now insert the elastic through the back of the foam through one hole and then out
the top (fabric side) to the down to the back again. Tie the ends of the elastic. Now you
have a loop to insert the crosses through. Make sure you place the elastic so the crosses can
hang attractively when the case is open and clear the edge when you close the case.

8. The rest is just placement of the bottles (ya know for the holy water), garlic, book and
rosary. I just draped the rosary over the crosses.

The whole project was just trial and error with the placement of the objects. Find a
vampire kit you like online and just start creating. I spent more time in the antique store
looking for objects than actually building the kit. The total cost was about $30.00, the case
being the most expensive item. An interesting side note to the prayer book; it had the name
of the owner and the date it was given to her. The name was the same as one of my good
friends, I asked him if he was related and sure enough it was his great-grandmothers
prayer book. I hope to find another book to use so I can give him this one.
